These three images show the final development of my sketchUp model. The above ground part of my model is a spatial representation of the word culture. The sharp triangular walls that rise from the ground and divide the room are in direct contrast with the arc of the roof and the extensively curved entrance, serving to represent the stark differences between various world cultures. The way the parts interlock conveys the interaction between cultures and the overlapping of various traditions. The underground part of my model was inspired by the word confronting and I have therefore used narrow corridors and staircases that lead to daunting triangular spaces in order to emulate this same feeling in the viewer. The various passageways create a sort of maze, giving the visitor options while viewing the artworks. The three images I have chosen to upload show a perspective, a section and a close up of the underground section.
